Thought of the Day
Are you good because you are good?
Or is it you want others to think you are good?
Or perhaps it's because you don't dare to do anything that is not good?
....
Most Singaporeans are downright rude... me included
Especially students in NBS who think they are great...
Oh please... if you are... you'ld be on some scholarships studying at the Ivy League unis........
One puny picture
My travelmate uploaded some of her picts taken in Taman Negara.
She did not take many picts... so here's (the only) one i can use without someone asking me to take it down..
The Canopy Walkway - the
longest in the world. Almost the highest.. second only to another canopy walkway in "i forgot where".

The walkway is made up of 10 long connecting sections (yes, i counted). The whole thing is hanging (literally) on the taller trees in the jungle. If one section snaps, other sections will also be affected ('cos the trees affected will sway and cause a domino effect).
The tour guide assured us that it's very safe to walk on the canopy walkway... It's quite an experience to walk among the trees.
Besides admiring the flora and fauna from such heights, you have to maintain your balance, ensure that you keep a safe distance (either 5m or 10m depending on the length of that section of walkway) from the person before you, battle with bees and mossies flying around your head and pose winningly for over-zealous photographers (actually - my sis and her fren).
The guide refused to walk the walkway with us. When pressed for a reason , he told us that 2-3 yrs ago while he was on the walkway, a section actually snapped .. and with the domino effect, screams from people who were on the walkway rang throughout the jungle. After that, he developed a phobia for walking on canopy walkway(s)...
[additional info: He told us abt his experience only AFTER we completed the walkway..
why that little liar (refer to the the words in blus italics above)..]
Okay.. maybe he didn't lie.. maybe they now have additional precautions in place to ensure the safety of tourists...
hmmnnn~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have much more stuff to share.. but i prefer doing so with picts. As i am not using my own com now.. I can't very well upload over 200 photos to my cousin's com.
Stay tuned!
I'm back
Hey people! Miss Juneberry is back (in ONE piece)!!
but the LCD screen of my laptop cracked (am using sch's computer now)... so I will not be posting abt my Taman Negara trip or any other entries anytime soon..
You won't be seeing me online for 3 weeks too... cos repairs take a long long time..
To egeus: Yes! I love photography!! My sis's 7.1mp digital cam is my new toy now. Just that sometimes i can't zoom close enough to get the close up picts of birds i saw in the jungle.
About Taman Negara: Wonderful trip!! Every person should go there at least once in your lifetime.
Can't resist adding

Another silly test
What's Your Party Style?

Ruping, your party style is to
Flirt
The best parties are charged with a pulsing energy, and with your charisma, you're sure to brighten up any soiree around.
Whether you're sending over a subtle wink, or flat-out flirting with your best brush of an arm, or sultry smile, you've got a spunky energy that will surely light up any party.
You don't take life too seriously and are quick to size up just what everyone in the room is after. It doesn't matter if you're chatting up a just-spotted cutie, or showing off for your adoring masses — your magnetic aura is sure to leave a lasting glow.
---------------------------------
Everybody try it and tell me your results!
To jings: I guess this confirms the suspicion you had all along abt me..
But
Miss Juneberry wanna clarify that she has never deliberately planned to flirt --> she is an
au naturel flirt
Announcement
Miss Juneberry may be terminating this blog in a few weeks' time.
When work starts rolling in... there won't be time for blog entries... there won't be much to blog about either.. because life as an auditor is as mundane as it gets...
The Oil Painting
Miss Juneberry is very proud of this oil painting she did..

nice?
Haha.. got you fooled, didn't I?
I took this pict with my hp camera...
Treasure every moment
I thought my first post after my Bintan trip was to .. well .. talk about Bintan.
Instead, I would like to talk about what I saw on my way to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.
On bus 35, while travelling along Changi Coastal road, Jings and I
saw 2 badly crushed cars. As the bus passed by the wreckages, we saw.. to our horror.. the body of one of the drivers lying on a grass patch beside the road and a bloodied steering wheel in one of the cars. The body was covered with black trash bag.. though we could still see the side of the body.
I remembered saying to Jingjun that I couldn't believe
a life was snuffed out just like that.
You know.. driving along a road --> a moment of inconcentration --> car accident --> that's it.
I remembered thinking to myself .. who is that person?
Does he have something he wanted to accomplish but have not gotten around to doing yet?since he is a man, what would happen to his family? ... his death is so sudden.. if i were to be one of his family members.. i don't think i could accept it.. a healthy man gone just like that. What if he had been somewhere else? left for his destination a minute earlier/later.. the accident wouldn't have happened and he would still be alive.
Well, today I had my questions answered. He is the former national boxer Doraisamy Rabit Chandra. He was making 2 trips from Tuas to send workers home. I shall not go into details here (you can read abt it in today's TNP Pg 62).
What really affected me was the statement that his wife made
".. his wife, who last spoke to him... and told him to (go) home and rest..
could only say 'if only he had listened to me...'"
Indeed, there can a lot of "
what Ifs"... but sometimes I guess when a thing is to happen, you can't prevent it from happening... so if Mrs Chandra is blaming herself for not insisting on his going home earlier to rest.. she shouldn't be so hard on herself... because I believe that
without the benefit of hindsight, the same decisions would still be made. She should be proud that her husband placed the welfare of the workers above his own.
My condolences to Mrs ChandraA minute of silence please...
Just for JJ and ZH
This song is specially dedicated to JJ and ZH
(one of my all time favourites too)Eternal Flame
Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Is this burning an eternal flame
I believe it's meant to be, darling
I watch you when you are sleeping
You belong with me
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame
Say my name sun shines through the rain
A (my) whole life so lonely
And then you come and ease the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling....
Thought of the day
I want to cut my hair short... really short - Page boy cut
But short hair looks funny under the motarboard (or rather the pizza box grads wear on their head...) >_< How I wish convo and all photo taking will be over soon....................
Below is the kind of cut i hope to get... but knowing the tendency of local hair stylists to insist on THEIR own preferences... and to trim happily until both sides are even, i shall be happy if my hair ends up slightly longer than a crew cut...
25 Qns Men want to ask Women
Was surfing around when Miss Juneberry found this article:
25 Qns men want to ask women"Here and now, for all the world to see, I feel compelled to reveal all the
questions men have crawling around in their heads — the questions we're
desperate to have answered but scared to death to ask our women. " (quoted)
Here's the list
1. Why do you all wish we were more like John Cusack?
2. Do you or don’t you want us to open the door for you? Just let us know, and we’ll act accordingly.
3. How can you look so cute in pigtails?
4. Why the fascination with Harrison Ford? He’s old enough to be your father, for crying out loud? Seriously.
5.When you ask "Does this look okay?" do you want honesty or support? We really can do both.
6. How can you complain endlessly about having "so much work to do" and then find the time to go shopping or talk to someone on the phone for two hours?
7. Do you ever get tired of watching The Sound of Music?
8. Why is each anniversary such a big deal to you? I'm not talking about yearly anniversaries, but our first date? Our first kiss? The first time I met your mother?
9. Do you think I'm better looking than Brad Pitt?
10. How can you always remember those little things, like Great-Great Aunt Emma's birthday or the anniversary of Cousin Susie's dog's death?
11. Why do you always ask us questions when you already know the answers?
12. How can you always be up for going shopping?
13. Chest hair — good or bad?
14. Boxers or briefs? Be honest.
15. Why do you find it endearing when a guy's in love and won't take no for an answer in the movies, but in real life you call it stalking?
16. Why is it so easy for you to stop and ask directions?
17. How do you innately seem to know what can or can’t go in the dryer?
18. Why do you always complain about your mothers and then end up talking to them for hours upon hours?
19. Why do you always go to the bathroom in groups?
20. Facial hair. Good or bad?
21. Looks or money?
22. When you ask, “If I died, would you remarry?” What exactly are you looking for?
23. If I died, would you remarry?
24. Does your dad like me? No, seriously.
25. How do you manage to be so cute, charming, silly, frustrating, beautiful, mysterious, complicated, simple and unbelievably interesting? No, seriously.

Miss Juneberry shall be a kind berry and put the guys out of their misery.
Ladies reading my blog, you are very much welcomed to give your take on the questions. =)
1. Why do you all wish we were more like John Cusack?
He's hot, you are not.2. Do you or don’t you want us to open the door for you? Just let us know, and we’ll act accordingly.
Yes, we want you to open the door for us. Do you have to ask?3. How can you look so cute in pigtails?
Because we can, you can't (look cute in ponytails)4. Why the fascination with Harrison Ford? He’s old enough to be your father, for crying out loud? Seriously.
Because he is a MAN, you are a KID5. When you ask "Does this look okay?" do you want honesty or support? We really can do both.
I dunno abt other girls, but i prefer honesty... no "traps" attached6. How can you complain endlessly about having "so much work to do" and then find the time to go shopping or talk to someone on the phone for two hours?
Because shopping and talking with someone is NOT work... Duh...7. Do you ever get tired of watching The Sound of Music?
For me: No8. Why is each anniversary such a big deal to you? I'm not talking about yearly anniversaries, but our first date? Our first kiss? The first time I met your mother?
Seriously, I dun remember such "details" myself... unless you are worth it. So you are implying we are not important enough to you to remember such details? .. jerk..9. Do you think I'm better looking than Brad Pitt?
Keep dreaming10. How can you always remember those little things, like Great-Great Aunt Emma's birthday or the anniversary of Cousin Susie's dog's death?
Refer to Qn 8.11. Why do you always ask us questions when you already know the answers?
Because we are interested in YOUR views.. even if you are not interested in ours.. you jerk12. How can you always be up for going shopping?
Because we are not bums.. unlike the other half of the total world population13. Chest hair — good or bad?
Different women have different preferences. You'll have to ask her yourself. Oh dear, are you too shy to ask?14. Boxers or briefs? Be honest.
None? *oopps* hahhaa... (just jokin)15. Why do you find it endearing when a guy's in love and won't take no for an answer in the movies, but in real life you call it stalking?
Refer to Qn 1.16. Why is it so easy for you to stop and ask directions?
Because we are not some pompous puffed-up peacocks trying to act a know-it-all...17. How do you innately seem to know what can or can’t go in the dryer?
Because we have common sense???18. Why do you always complain about your mothers and then end up talking to them for hours upon hours?
We share a love-hate relationship. "i hate myself for loving you"19. Why do you always go to the bathroom in groups?
Because we are not trying to act all macho...20. Facial hair. Good or bad?
Tell me, who doesn't have facial hair? If you want to look like an egg face, who am I to stop you?21. Looks or money?
Looks AND money.22. When you ask, “If I died, would you remarry?” What exactly are you looking for?
We are looking for white lies.23. If I died, would you remarry?
Are you looking for white lies too?24. Does your dad like me? No, seriously.
For a dad who loves his daughter.. no man is ever good enough. Yes, seriously.25. How do you manage to be so cute, charming, silly, frustrating, beautiful, mysterious, complicated, simple and unbelievably interesting? No, seriously.
Because we are... Yes, seriously.
Les Miserables - On My Own (Eponine)
I first noticed this song when we had to play it as a band piece.. and then I was hooked on the melody.
I then asked a classmate to lend me her LD for Les Miserables... and then I was hooked on the lyrics.
Wish I could perform this song for a song signing performance... but i guess I dun have much chance to do that anymore.. or maybe i could persuade everyone to sign this song on Friday?
But anyway.. the
background to this song:
This song is sang by Eponine .. she loved the guy who loved the female lead.. if I remember correctly, the female lead is her best friend too... i guess you could pretty much guess what happened..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On My Own
Eponine
.
And now I'm all alone again,
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to.
Without a home, without a friend,
Without a face to say hello to.
And now the night is near
Now I can make believe he's here.
Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and then I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head.
.
On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone, I walk with him till morning
Without him, I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me
In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me for ever and forever
And I know it's only in my mind.
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us
.
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone, the river's just a river
Without him, the world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
.
I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life I've only been pretending
Without me, his world will go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known!
.
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own.
.
[If you want to hear how it sounds like, switch on your speakers..
the beginning may not sound for those who are hearing it for the first time.. but do give this song a chance.. the nicer part is after the prologue.
Also, this version is not the version I was looking for.
When I find it, i will change the song unloaded.]
The subconcious mind
Miss Juneberry was reading this article today when the images of
Jing Jun and
Zhihai @ the Suntec foodcourt popped up in her mind...
The article says that when a person is interested in another person, he will
extend his feet towards that person subconsciously under the dining table..
"where the feet goes, the heart follows"
Sorry.. yours truly really wanna laugh.. hahahhahahha!!! *cough cough*
Musical Baton
Egeus passed to yours truly.. but Miss Juneberry will not pass it on...
Total Volume of Music files on my computer:Erm not big.. i only download those songs which i think are good but does not justify buying the entire album for (the musicians and artistes can only blame themselves for producing trash)
The Last CD I bought was:F.I.R 无限... but it's still in its packaging
hmmnnn... i bought it 'cos i think they deserve my $$ for making good music..
Song playing right now:Birds chirping outside my window
5 songs I listen to alot or that mean alot to me:1)
YMCA (by ??) - The first song I played in band with my fellow new recruits... those who were there (i.e Chu)... you still remember how someone can just start the first beats and everyone will just spontaneously join in regardless of where we were?? My most memorable was the time we stood along the corridor in front of the band room to play this song.
2)
天黑黑 (Stef Sun) - Just change granny to grampa...
3)
我只在乎你 (Teresa Teng) - My song when i first participated in a singing competition.. we did it in a group.. hahhaa those were the days ^_^
4)
Incantation and Dance (John Barnes Chance - Band Music) -
My first SYF piece.. to those who were there (i.e Chu again) .. you still remember the story we cooked up abt peiying being the witch and her "swinging" bassoon being the "ladle"?..
i still remember the triplets that we practiced so much just to make sure they sound even ... Peiying's "1234, again.. 1234, again".. the middle part which of course i can still play with my eyes closed.. the first running notes that we "mastered"..
This is also the song which propelled us to the Top 5 Gold band.. breaking our long 20 yr bronze/silver spell... It's the first time I cried out of sheer happiness.. we all did... hugging each other and jumped and laughed and cried...
(aside: the title of this song also reminds me of our unique band cheer)
5)
The Gift (Colin Raye) - The first song I signed .. it's so deeply ingrained in me that i can sign it anytime anywhere
10 other songs which are close to my heart / I like:Too many to list.. if you've been reading my blog... you already know a quarter of the entire list. 5 people to whom I'm passing the baton:
Whoever wanna pick up this baton..
Appreciation of the simple things in life
Curling up with a good book in the sofa...
Drinking hot milo + biscuit dips during cold rainy days
Looking out the window at the passing scenery and at the blue blue sky
Lying on the bed listening to my favourite radio station
.... All these gives me pleasure...
Sometimes i wonder.. am i the only person who derives happiness from these simple acts?
