One puny picture

My travelmate uploaded some of her picts taken in Taman Negara.
She did not take many picts... so here's (the only) one i can use without someone asking me to take it down..

The Canopy Walkway - the longest in the world. Almost the highest.. second only to another canopy walkway in "i forgot where".



The walkway is made up of 10 long connecting sections (yes, i counted). The whole thing is hanging (literally) on the taller trees in the jungle. If one section snaps, other sections will also be affected ('cos the trees affected will sway and cause a domino effect). The tour guide assured us that it's very safe to walk on the canopy walkway...

It's quite an experience to walk among the trees.
Besides admiring the flora and fauna from such heights, you have to maintain your balance, ensure that you keep a safe distance (either 5m or 10m depending on the length of that section of walkway) from the person before you, battle with bees and mossies flying around your head and pose winningly for over-zealous photographers (actually - my sis and her fren).

The guide refused to walk the walkway with us. When pressed for a reason , he told us that 2-3 yrs ago while he was on the walkway, a section actually snapped .. and with the domino effect, screams from people who were on the walkway rang throughout the jungle. After that, he developed a phobia for walking on canopy walkway(s)...
[additional info: He told us abt his experience only AFTER we completed the walkway.. why that little liar (refer to the the words in blus italics above)..]

Okay.. maybe he didn't lie.. maybe they now have additional precautions in place to ensure the safety of tourists... hmmnnn

I have much more stuff to share.. but i prefer doing so with picts. As i am not using my own com now.. I can't very well upload over 200 photos to my cousin's com.
